INFORMATION
General
When entering Mozambique you do require 3rd party insurance which you can purchase at the BP garage in Komatipoort or it can be bought at the AA and also 4x4 shops. When towing a trailer you need a blue and yellow towing sticker also obtainable at most 4x4 shops.  Do not forget your red warning triangle for breakdowns.  At all times adhere to the speed limits.  Please visit the following website for the most up to date requirements http://www.moztour.com

Diesel/Petrol
Do not purchase petrol/diesel which is sold along the road in containers.  It may be mixed with water.  Fill up at the gas stations before you embark on your journey.  From Xai Xai the next gas station (at Quissico) is 137km far and we would strongly suggest that you fill up before leaving Xai Xai.  Quissico is 42 km further than the Canda turnoff for Paradise Palms.

Food and Drinks
Meat is not readily available and suggest that you stock up before entering Mozambique.  Komatipoort has some lovely butcheries and there is a Spar where you can stock up on all your foodstuffs.  Fresh vegetables and fruit is available in abundance in Mozambique and you can stop along the road at many villages.  Xai Xai has a market  where you can get fruit, veggies, prawns, fish etc.  Suggest you bargain when purchasing seafood.  Xai Xai has a lovely bakery where you can stock up on Pau (bread which freezes very well) and the coconut tarts are a must.  Milk and cheese is not available everywhere.  Cashew nuts are for sale along the road in shopping bags, it is perfectly safe to purchase and very tasty.  Beer is available at most places even at the gas stations do try the Laurentina Preta.  Wine is available but  expensive.  At Chissibuca where you will turn off for Paradise Palms there is a village with a nice variety of veggies, fruit and drinks.

Malaria
Mozambique is a malaria area so please take the necessary precautions.

Water
Borehole water at Paradise Palms perfectly safe for drinking and has a pleasant taste.
You do not need to bring water supplies.

Electricity
